Yearly trans-linguistic exchange programme for sound artists in Switzerland since 2022
RöstiBrücke 2025 is the fourth edition of an annual series of trans-linguistic-regional music exchange in Switzerland. Initiated right after the pandemic, this dialogue in performance and sound arts builds bridges between venues and artists. Cave12 and the Walcheturm pioneered by taking part in 2022. In 2023 we managed to break through the Gotthard and to establish a trans-Jurassic connection. In 2024 we succeeded in joining the fourth linguistic region.
This year, in four venues of four linguistic regions, with eighteen artists from all over Switzerland, we organize a series of polymorphic performances that allow the possibility of experimenting with new sounds and new spaces. As in a cabaret, the public attends a series of proposals, merging genres and sensitivities, with sound poetry as the only common thread.
This year, we also initiated a sort of creative match making process, with an encounter of two sound artists from different linguistic regions, for a free improvised set after a short creative residency. At each venue we invited a local artist to meet another artist for a creative process with which we don’t want to interfere. We leave two days for finding a common grounds for an original sound piece to be presented in each of the venues.
RöstiBrücke2025 is an initiative by SZKMD production, with the support of FSRC/SRKS, Swiss Perform, Oertli Stiftung, Ernst Göhner Stiftung, Landis & Gyr Stiftung, and the Republic and Canton of Geneva.
